Sourcing the Best Beef
Beef: In this recipe, I used USDA-certified Choice Grade beef. If you’re balling on a budget, this is a great option. For those who prefer grass-fed beef, check out Burgundy Pasture Beef from Fort Worth, TX, or explore the variety of ranches on Range Market, which offer grain-fed, all-natural, and grass-fed options.
Oven Baked Beef Ribs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 racks of beef ribs
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons black pepper
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons thyme
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- Mustard and more mustard
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
2. In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, black pepper, salt, thyme, and onion powder.
3. Place each rack of ribs on a sheet of tin foil. Lather them in mustard to tenderize the meat during baking. Then, pat the seasoning mix onto the ribs, covering all sides. ( I really embrace the mess of this process, but you can use a brush to lather the mustard and rub.)
4. Wrap each rack tightly in the foil, sealing them well. Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet or grill pan, bone side down.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 4 hours until the meat is tender and pulls easily from the bones.
6. After 4 hours, increase the oven temperature to 350°F (177°C), unwrap the ribs, and bake for another 30 minutes to crisp the top.
7. Let the ribs rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving. Pair with your favorite sides, like potatoes and watermelon.🍉
